Ship-from-store is a delivery mode by which a retailer with an e-commerce offer and a network of points of sale delivers to its customers from its stores and not from a storage platform.
Ship-from-store offers various potential advantages:
- It reduces the distance and the delivery time by relying in particular on the territorial coverage of the points of sale
- It allows to deal with stock shortages at the level of an e-commerce platform or point of sale other than the one from which the product is shipped.
- It facilitates end-of-series inventory sell-offs at points of sale without product returns.
